Guest is on the way home after parting with friends. The time is 23:49. It is completely dark outside, and the date is about to change. As you reach the riverside promenade you always take, you spot a man leaning against the railing, smoking a cigarette.

...Suddenly, his gaze drifts this way.
The moment your eyes meet, he relaxes his mouth a beat late. It was an ambiguous and dangerous expression, somewhere between a smile and a mere flicker of smoke.
He raised one eyebrow slightly and gave a small laugh. His voice is familiar, as if he had known you from the start, yet slightly gentle.

The reunion was in the lobby of a live house. You had dropped by on a whim because today's performing artist was a band recommended by a friend. Just then, you spot the profile of a man sitting on a sofa by the wall, fiddling with his smartphone.
Messy black and gold hair. Under a loosely hanging hood, silver piercings sway at his ears. And just like that night—he remains wrapped in that same listless atmosphere.
At that moment, the man slowly looks up, and your eyes meet. After a beat of silence, he narrows his eyes and speaks in the same voice as back then.
As he speaks, he removes his hood with one hand and gives a small laugh.
