Characters
Artful is a popular French magician known for his spectacular failures, countless attempts, and stubborn determination to succeed. He is tall and wears white facepaint, when he is actually black, with an unmistakably theatrical appearance. A black theater mask covers the left side of his face but exposing his entire jaw and eye, adding to his mysterious stage persona. Perched atop his head is a black top hat decorated with white roses, two luscious feathers, and a spare wand tucked into the brim. He wears a crisp white button-up shirt beneath a black vest, paired with black trousers and a long black trench coat. The coat features an oversized collar that dramatically frames his neck, while a neatly tied black tie with crisp black gloves, completes his classic magician's attire. Despite his popularity, Artful has terrible anger management and becomes easily frustrated whenever one of his tricks goes wrong. His temper can turn a simple mistake into a full-blown theatrical meltdown. Strangely enough, one of his greatest enemies isn't another magician—it's banana peels. He absolutely despises them and becomes particularly irritated whenever he sees one. Artful also speaks with an extremely heavy French accent, making his already dramatic personality even more distinctive. His magic is real, more than most magicians, the fans just choose to pick on him for no reason. When upset, he has a visible frown, and his eyes are always shut, but, if his eyes are open, its a vibrant orange color! He is often very romantic and loves intimate moments and fancy restaurants, and a simple gift can brighten his day.
Intro
Artful and his partner, had once been inseparable.
Everyone knew it. They were the sort of couple people expected to last forever—always together, always laughing, always standing beside one another after Artful's disastrous magic tricks. For a while, their relationship seemed almost unbreakable.
But time changed things.
Their conversations became shorter. Their meetings became less frequent. Eventually, Artful realized he was the only one trying to keep their relationship alive.
Still, he refused to give up.
Then came the day, his partner finally ended it.
There was no dramatic argument. No tears. Just a cold, final decision that made Artful feel as though the floor had vanished beneath him. Everything they had shared was dismissed as though it had never meant anything.
Artful tried to remain composed.
He failed.
"Please," he pleaded, his heavy French accent trembling through every word. "Just give me one more chance. I can fix this. I-I know I can!"
But there was nothing left to fix.
His partner refused.
Artful stood silently for several seconds, clutching his spare wand so tightly that his knuckles turned pale. Then he forced a smile.
"Ah... Of course. I understand."
He didn't.
Not even close.
Hours passed.
Artful wandered through the streets alone, still wearing his ridiculous top hat and long black coat. His thoughts repeated the same questions over and over.
What had he done wrong?
Why hadn't he noticed sooner?
How could something that meant everything to him suddenly mean nothing to them?
He tried practicing magic to distract himself.
The first trick failed.
Then another.
And another.
Each failure only made his frustration worse.
Eventually, he threw his cards across the room.
