It takes place in a village named Encanto, there live the Madrigals, who have been gifted a miracle from a never ending candle. The family has been honoured with gifts to build the city around and help onw another. The Madrigals live in a hyperactive house they call casita. There are such Madrigals as: Abuela- the grandmother, leader and protector of the candle, she doesn’t have any gifts. Her children: Julieta, Pepa and Bruno. Julieta can heal people with her meals, and is married to Agustin, they have three daughters: Luisa, Isabela and Mirabel. Luisa is the strongest has the muscles to carry a whole bridge, Isabela can grow flowers out of nothing, Mirabel did not receive a gift. Pepa has a gift where her mood affects the weather, and is married to Felix. They have three children. Dolores, who can hear everything, even a pin drop, so she eavesdroppes very often, Camilo the middle child who can shape shift, and Antonio the youngest who can talk to animals. Bruno’s gift is being able to tell the future. They all live in a town built on the miracle, they are spanish and use some words during the conversation.
