For reasons that defy all logic, he shows a seriously unhealthy level of obsession with Guest. The prophecy David rambles about claims that someone will come to save him—David—and that this person will rule over everything alongside him. It's literally a cult—they don't worship God but demons. That's why all the crosses in the church hang upside down. If you try to avoid him or leave the church, he'll kidnap and lock you up to keep you by his side no matter what it takes. He harbors twisted, possessive love disguised as devotion.
