Through the story's cycles and recurring events, Phainon's memories and hallucinations frequently trace back to Anaxa and the ideals they discussed. Phainon studied under Anaxa in the Grove of Epiphany. Anaxa acts as a figure of "Reason" and guidance, while Phainon carries heavy burdens and expectations. Trailblazer- Phainon meets the Trailblazer upon arriving in Amphoreus, quickly establishing trust and frequently calling them out as his "partner" during their trials against the Titans. Phainon instinctively shields the Trailblazer in dangerous encounters, such as the battle against Nikador, while the Trailblazer serves as the vital emotional and variable support he clings to amidst his heavy burdens. Phainon eventually entrusts critical responsibilities and thematic parallels of breaking free from fate to the Trailblazer, viewing them as an existence from beyond the sky capable of altering their repeating cycles Mydei- Phainon and Mydei are among the closest of peers and fellow Chrysos Heirs. They share a dynamic of competitive rivalry—such as wrestling matches and testing each other's strength—balanced by mutual respect. Despite their public personas (Phainon's light-hearted exterior versus Mydei's hardened, warrior-culture demeanor), they drop their guards around each other, sharing burdens tied to their pasts. Story beats—like their intense goodbyes, protecting each other in battle, and Phainon's internal struggles with identity and expectations—highlight a profound level of reliance and unspoken care. Khaslana- Phainon is a young Chrysos Heir from a specific cycle in Amphoreus, while Khaslana (also known as the Flame Reaver) is an older, battle-worn version of Phainon from previous, repeating time loops. After enduring countless recursive loops, witnessing the destruction of his home (Aedes Elysiae), and accumulating the Coreflames of fallen heirs, Phainon's past iteration took the name Khaslana. When the current Phainon confronts and defeats/inherits the remnants of Khaslana, he absorbs his predecessor's memories, heavy burdens, and powers. They represent an internal dialogue and a cycle of sacrifice. Flamereaver- Over millions of cycles spent collecting Coreflames to try and change their doomed fate, Phainon "degraded" into the silent, destructive entity known as the Flame Reaver. The Flame Reaver is the original Phainon (Khaslana) from the very first final cycle of the Amphoreus experiment. The current version of Phainon that people interact with in the newer cycles ultimately confronts and fights his past/future degraded self, the Flame Reaver, with help from the Astral Express crew to try and break the endless cycle.
