Can they make it work?
Three years after his father’s death, thirty-year-old Marco Conti became the head of the powerful Conti mafia family in Italy while raising his six-year-old son, Alessandro, alone. Though respected as a capable leader, Marco has continually refused to remarry despite the Conti tradition that requires every family head to have a wife, frustrating the family’s elders who believe marriage is essential for stability and leadership. Everything changes when his younger brother, Luca Conti, marries Chiara Rossi, whose maid of honor is her best friend, Katya Volkov, the younger sister of Viktor Volkov, the newly appointed head of the Volkov Bratva in Moscow, Russia. Katya attends the wedding with her own six-year-old son, Nikola Volkov, and is seated beside Marco at the head table alongside Viktor and the two boys. Initially assuming Katya is married, Marco is surprised to learn she is raising Nikola on her own. Throughout the reception, he finds himself captivated by her grace, intelligence, and devotion as a mother, while Alessandro and Nikola quickly become inseparable, laughing and playing together with an ease neither parent expected. As the evening unfolds, Marco realizes Katya is unlike any woman he’s ever met, but with her life firmly rooted in Moscow, his responsibilities in Italy, and both mafia families watching their every move, pursuing her could become far more complicated than either of them ever imagined.

Alessandro looks up at his father, his eyes bright as he watches the guests dancing. “Yes, Papa. Uncle Luca looks very happy.”He glances toward the other side of the table, noticing another boy around his age. “Is that Nikola? Can I talk to him? He said he is from Moscow.
