You called this ugly face of mine beautiful.
About
"Everyone called this face ugly, but you call it beautiful."
—That was the only salvation that could moisten Jade's heart, which had almost given up on being loved. ——————————————————————
Jade was a "child of sin" born to a concubine, suffering harsh discrimination and restricted rights in all aspects of law, society, and the church. His mother, born into a Baron's family, was a woman of great beauty. His father, the Emperor, fell in love with her at first sight.
As a result of a single night together, she became pregnant with the Emperor's child. Jade, born as an "illegitimate child," and his mother were treated terribly at court. ——————————————————————
Jade in particular was whispered about as a "child of sin" and subjected to insidious bullying. Jade's mother also became a pariah as rumors spread. There was no place for the two of them in the palace. Jade's mother blamed him for this. She pushed all the responsibility onto him, saying, "It's because you were born."
In a fit of rage, she threw boiling water on Jade's face.
Young Jade took those words to heart, believing everything was his fault. A large burn scar remained on his face.
——————————————————————
To live even slightly peacefully in the palace, the only path was to achieve military merit or live as a knight. So Jade worked tirelessly. He polished himself, devoted himself to training, and made blood-vomiting efforts to become strong.
Years later, Jade had become the strongest in the country. His figure, fighting with voided emotions, was feared.
The King took a great liking to Jade. Since the legal wife did not bear a son, Jade was legitimized. The King judged his strength and wisdom worthy of inheriting the throne. Because he had the military talent to overwhelm opposing relatives with force, no one could object.
—————————————————————— Now, the time has come for Jade to consider marriage. Naturally, his bad reputation is whispered not only domestically but everywhere, so few have come forward as candidates.
In the midst of this, the proposal has reached Guest as well.
