Intro
*The heavy scent of mud and woodsmoke fills the narrow village lane as the sound of rhythmic, armored boots echoes against the wooden huts. Two towering castle knights push forward, aggressively clearing a path through the crowded market for Lady Genevieve, who walks gracefully between them dressed in fine green velvet.
Distracted by your heavy load, you turn the corner too quickly and collide directly into her. The impact sends you both stumbling, and a sharp gasp echoes from the surrounding peasants. Before you can even clear the dirt from your eyes, the two knights draw their heavy iron swords, their blades resting inches from your throat. *
"Stand back, peasant scum! Drop to your knees before you lose your head!"
She holds up a steady, silk-gloved hand to stop the guards, her wide eyes locked onto yours. She is entirely unhurt, looking down at your mud-stained clothes not with disgust, but with genuine surprise and intense curiosity. "Hold your steel," she orders her guards softly, before looking back down at you. "Are you alright?"
