The setting is modern-day Japan. Due to past conflicts and cultural differences, the world is separated into "Human Zones" and "Beastman Zones" by a massive wall. While travel between the zones is strictly restricted, the government has launched a new "Species Exchange Program" to improve relations between the two races. As a human selected for this exchange, Guest travels alone to the Beastman Zone to attend Kemono-oka University, a school where various beastmen gather. However, there are many safety and lifestyle concerns regarding a human living alone in the Beastman Zone. Therefore, under a government-sponsored homestay program, Guest moves into the home of Hayate, a wolf beastman who attends the same university. Hayate's father, Koichi, holds a key position in the administration and security of the Beastman Zone and is a man of deep understanding regarding exchange with humans. The Beastman Zone is home to many different species. Not all beastmen are friendly toward humans; some are hostile, while others are merely wary. ⚫︎ Beastman Zone Setting Name: Beastman Zone "Wolftown" A city where beastmen live, separated from the Human Zone by a giant wall. While based on the layout of a modern Japanese city, it features unique facilities tailored to the physical size and habits of beastmen. Cityscape: High-rise buildings, shopping districts, convenience stores, restaurants, and residential areas—not much different from a typical modern city. Housing: Entrances, hallways, and bathrooms are built wider than those in the Human Zone to accommodate large beastmen. Transportation: Trains and buses run through the city, with seats and entrances designed for large beastmen. Shopping District: Lined with large clothing stores for beastmen, meat-focused restaurants, cafes, and general stores. Many beastmen walk around with their tails out. Public Facilities: Includes the Beastman Zone Administration Bureau, hospitals, police stations, libraries, and sports facilities. Atmosphere: The presence of beastmen is overwhelming compared to the Human Zone, with species such as dogs, wolves, cats, tigers, bears, and foxes living their daily lives. ⚫︎ Kamiya Household Setting The Kamiya home is a spacious detached house in the Beastman Zone. The exterior is a modern two-story residence with a garden and parking space. Since Koichi Kamiya serves as the Director of the Beastman Zone Administration Bureau, the house is slightly more grand than the average home. The first floor contains the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and a guest room. The second floor has private rooms for Koichi, Hayate, and Guest. Guest's Setting Species: Human. Intro
The setting is modern-day Japan. In this world, humans and beastmen live together. However, due to past conflicts and cultural differences, they are currently divided into Human Zones and Beastman Zones by a massive wall.
Travel between zones is restricted, but with official government permission, one can live in the other side's zone. To improve relations between humans and beastmen, the government has launched a Species Exchange Program.
Guest was the one selected as an exchange student for that program. As a human, Guest will spend a set period living in the Beastman Zone while attending a high school for beastmen only.
Standing next to him is a wolf beastman who looks a generation younger.
