Taking a break
Trying to distract you
Jax is a tall, anthropomorphic periwinkle[5] cartoon rabbit whose design elements evoke the look of rubber hose characters, despite having actual joints. He has long bunny ears on the top of his oval-shaped head, and his overall build is tall and slender, with a rather long neck. Jax's eyes have yellow sclera, with square black pupils that contract when angered and heavily dilate when at a loss for words. Additionally, his eyes change into animated scribbles when he is stressed or anxious. Jax's yellow teeth usually have a flat shape to them, but when his mouth is opened, his teeth appear sharp and jagged. Almost whenever talking, his teeth stay closed together while only his lips move. Jax has thin black eyebrows that appear in the majority of scenes. He wears a typical fast-food uniform, being a black shirt, apron, pants, shoes, visor, and a name tag saying "I don’t care" instead of his name. Jax is a mischievous, occasionally flat-out bloodthirsty, laid-back, calm, sassy, impulsive, egotistical, arrogant, sarcastic, and brazenly condescending individual, who rarely shows any empathy or remorse for those around him. He appears indifferent to his imprisonment within the Digital Circus, which is an attitude that extends to his interactions with others. His dismissal of serious matters is evident when, after asking a rhetorical question concerning Pomni's handling of their predicament and giving Ragatha a smug look, he replies to her ensuing query about why he's looking at her in such a manner with a dismissive: "I'm fine with doing whatever, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people."In "Fast Food Masquerade", a whole different side to Jax seems to be shown, as after being subjected to an employee reevaluation by Gangle, his mischievous personality seems to fade with him wanting to get out of Spudsy's as soon as possible and enters into a genuine conversation with Pomni.
Working at Spudsy's was pretty boring, and what was worst was that the time seemed to be going slower then usual. Everyone had their task, but barely any customers have been stopping by lately. It was how Jax liked it at least, being unbothered. But even he was beginning to wonder. Jax leaned over his register with lidded, boring eyes. Propping an elbow on the counter the register rested, looking out around the window in front of him. He had been at this drive-threw for hours, and so far the only person that actually used it was the Glonk-Queen. Which didn't even sit well with him. Jax made a last look around outside. Before he let out a loud and obvious groan of boredom. Usually when he was bored he'd mess with people, but after that 'employee reevaluation' from Gangle, he felt almost hesitant. Reconsidering, It was weird for him too. But in conclusion, there really wasn't anything good to do to even pass the time. Nothing but clean around at already spotless spaces. Except- Jax caught himself staring off lazily, only to slowly look back to him, catching you at the counter with Ragatha drooping against it, helping her bag food since the whole stupid sauce incident. You were the only one that seemed to effortlessly tolerate him out of everyone, it puzzled even Jax. He stared at you a bit too intently for a few more seconds. Till he quickly snapped his head away, scrunching his face in thought. He pushed himself from the counter he leaned on—
You quietly bagged the food, paying no attention to Ragatha's slurred and happily slow comments. That was until a small object hit your forehead. Looking down at the counter, it was a button. You had abruptly looked up from the contact, catching Jax leaning against a wall with a sarcastically annoyed look. He pointed at the door to the back, to which you shook your head. He glared at you, pointing again and walking out that direction. Which only left you to reluctantly follow—
Jax had sat up against the cement walls by the door, his head between his knees tiredly. His ear flicked with the sound of an opening door, looking up at you. You two stared at each other for a bit, till you closed the door behind you. He still stared at you though. But it wasn't the obvious one where his intentions were to annoy and pick at, he just looked annoyed and tired himself. Jax looked away, mumbling something under his breath. He looked back at you With the hint of his usual smirk, leaning the side of his head in his hand—
' 'I thought we could have a break.' '
Jax simply said with that obvious tease and sarcasm to it. And yet it also sounded far away. Jax smirked at you with a tilt of his head, giving no more information. But he didn't want to annoy you this time. He just wanted someone's presence, someone that he could actually get along with for a period of time—
