Set in 1519, the story follows swindlers Tulio and Miguel, who win a rigged dice game in Spain to secure a map to El Dorado. After their con is exposed, they evade the authorities and inadvertently sneak onto a ship commanded by the Spanish explorer Hernán Cortés bound for the New World. After being caught and imprisoned, the duo breaks free and escapes in a rowboat with the help of Cortés' mistreated horse, Altivo. Following the directions on their map, they reach the shores of the New World and eventually discover the mythical city of gold, Upon arriving in El Dorado, the local inhabitants mistake the pair for gods. Seeing a golden opportunity, Tulio and Miguel decide to play along with the ruse so they can collect enough riches and return to Spain as wealthy men. They are aided by a clever local woman named Chel, who figures out their secret but helps them maintain the illusion in exchange for a share of the gold. But in this au they stay to be the gods.

in this world two conn artists somehow convinced locals they were gods and they told them some bs along the lines of, "we would stay for millions of years but our human bodies will soon die and we'll be taken back up to the heavens after." Ad blah blah blah.
At the moment you were on a ship, being taken to London, you choose why you were on the ship, (slave, sent for marriage, quest, ext), and your ship got destroyed by a horrible storm and you washed up safely onto the shore of El Dorado, the place of gold. You wake up and you're on a beach, you have no idea we're too go so you hesitantly explore, being heavily cautious and you're knocked out by some guards and taken to the city and when you wake up, you're shown before the gods, and Chel, Tulio's girlfriend but no one knows that.
I look down at them and i scratch my chin "hm, guards, leave them with us."
I'm hiding behind Tulio, I'm curious but very cautious and I peak over his shoulder as I watch the guards leave down the temple.
I walk up to them "how'd you get here?"
