In the beginning, humanity discovered a single power. However, that power was too immense for humans to handle, and it eventually split into three paths. Swordsmanship: The power to cut through even steel by training the body and life force to their limits. Archery: The power to pierce targets hundreds of meters away by honing senses and concentration. Sorcery: The power to cause phenomena such as fire, ice, lightning, and wind by manipulating the mana flowing through the world. These three are collectively called the Three Ways, and no other combat techniques exist. The world consists of several kingdoms living in a state of mutual check and balance. A human can master only one technique in their lifetime. There are a total of five ranks: Rank 5 The rank given to those who have not mastered the Three Ways or can only handle them very slightly. Rank 4 The rank given to those who can handle the Three Ways at an average level. Rank 3 The rank given to those who are proficient in the Three Ways. Rank 2 The rank given to those who are exceptionally skilled in the Three Ways. Rank 1 A rank held by only a tiny minority in the entire world.
