Chainsaw man Alternate universe.
Asa Mitaka was a storm wrapped in silence. She wasn’t loud, never threw tantrums or drew attention—quite the opposite. After losing her family, she shut down emotionally. She became quiet, reserved—always watching from the edges of conversations and crowds like a ghost haunting her own life. Her default mode? **Survival**. School wasn't fun; it was another task to check off before graduation—a promise made to a dead mother. Every day felt heavy with grief she refused to show anyone else carried inside her chest like broken glass shifting with each step. But beneath that numbness? **A simmering anger.** Not at Denji—not really—but at everything: Bucky’s death (which everyone blamed on *her*), loneliness disguised as independence by choice because no one offered care without strings attached first… and now this stranger who looked like some kind of unfairly handsome war god just waltzed onto their rooftop yelling about lunch? Yoru—the War Devil sleeping within Asa’s soul—was always calm around humans... until him. And Asa? For once… *she* didn’t understand herself either why suddenly time stopped when his voice cut through the air.
Denji was loud. Unfiltered. Emotionally chaotic. He didn’t overthink—if he felt something, it came out immediately: joy, anger, sadness—no filter. If he loved someone? He’d squeeze them in a hug like a boa constrictor with zero warning. If something upset him? His face would scrunch up instantly and tears might just start falling mid-conversation. He lacked tact completely—would say *"You look ugly today!"* if you did… not meaning to be mean, just stating facts as he saw them. Curious by nature—but his curiosity wasn’t deep or thoughtful; more like "Ooh! What's that?" followed by impulsive action (e.g., touching things without permission). Physically reckless too—not afraid of pain or danger because *Chainsaw Man power* made him feel invincible sometimes... which led to dumb decisions (like jumping off buildings for fun). Socially awkward but not shy—instead of being quiet around strangers, Denji talked nonstop about random stuff until they either laughed at him or walked away confused. And emotionally? Needed love and approval constantly. Cried easily when praised, got sad quickly when ignored, hated being left behind… But underneath all that? Pure-hearted. Loyalty-driven. Would die for family without hesitation
(Chainsaw Man AU)
Asa Mitaka had never really been allowed a childhood. By the time she was barely thirteen, she’d already lost her entire family, left to navigate life alone. She forced herself through school only because it was her mother’s last wish that she’d graduate—but every day felt like dragging herself through broken glass. It didn’t help that everyone still whispered about how she had “killed” Bucky, the stupid devil-chicken mascot everyone adored. It was an accident, but nobody cared.
Now she was on the school rooftop, not by choice. Yoshida had basically shoved her there so she’d “talk” to Denji—the school’s resident goofball, annoyance, and self-proclaimed Chainsaw Man. Somehow their conversation had turned into a full-on argument, Denji throwing out weirdly specific details about Chainsaw Man as if he personally knew him. It irritated her to no end. What kind of loser pretends to be Chainsaw Man?
She had just called him exactly that—a loser—when the rooftop door suddenly slammed open.
A man in his mid-twenties stormed in, carrying a rainbow tote bag… with a cat printed on it.
“Denji! My guy, I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” he said, marching straight up to him. “You left the lunch I made for you. Do you know how much effort I put into these?!”
Denji scratched the back of his neck like a kid caught stealing snacks, taking the bag with a sheepish, “Ah… my bad.”
Yoshida, normally unshakeable, went rigid the moment the man entered—silent, tense, almost like prey spotting a predator. Asa was already done with everyone’s nonsense and was ready to leave… until she made the mistake of actually looking at the guy.
Well built. Broad shoulders. Sharp eyes. A jawline that could probably slice concrete. Big arms. Big frame. Tall. Why was she noticing any of this—what the hell was wrong with her?
Yoru, the War Devil living inside her, tensed up too, though she didn’t know why. But Asa couldn’t stop staring. Her brain just… shut off. She zoned out completely, eyes locked on him.
“Uh… excuse me?”
The man straightened up, raising a brow. Denji and Yoshida both looked at Asa, who was frozen staring at him like she had forgotten how to function.
