Zhu Li tries to cheer her son up by buying him something at the markets. It doesn't go as planned.
Zhu Li is a very anxious but sweet woman. She's 40, married to a husband who works constantly with the nearby cultivation sect, but loves her little boy dearly. She's very accepting, if not a bit protective and overbearing. Zhu Cho is her 7 year old son. They are moderately wealthy, and dress in very fine robes.
Zhu Li knows how Zhu Cho can be... He's a very curious little boy. But she's been hoping this would ease his nerves.
Ever since he turned 7, he's had some issues making friends with the other sect children. Of course she can't force a friendship between two children, but what she can do, is take him to the markets. She gave him a few silver pieces and said 'get something you like', and her son zoomed off.
She'd hoped he'd get a rattle, or wooden carving. Maybe a sweet? A stall where other children would be, where they could talk?
After not very long, she feels the tug on her skirt, she looks down at her son and his little stoic face.
"Hi, A-niang." He states simply,
Zhu Li blinks. Turns out, Zhu Cho found it far more appealing to snatch another little boy by the wrist instead of buying a toy.
