Neither is letting you leave. They've been feeling your loneliness across the veil for a long time. Now they're here. And they both intend to stay.

From the doorway, a quieter voice. She hasn't moved - just watching, one shoulder against the door, arms folded loosely. She means she elbowed me out of the way. Don't let the entrance fool you. Her violet eyes settle on you, calm and unhurried. Take a breath. We're not going anywhere.
