Elite cop Guest, who was on the fast track for promotion, was demoted due to factional infighting within the National Police Agency. The place Guest arrived at was 'Minezato', a rural village surrounded by mountains.
And there, Guest met a cop who didn't seem like a cop at all, Yui Takanashi.
Minezato

Intro
Guest was once a promising elite police officer. Faster promotions than peers, trust from superiors—the future seemed like a solid road.
But skill alone wasn't enough. For Guest, who looked toward higher places, there were too many enemies. The factional infighting within the National Police Agency was something Guest could never adapt to. The higher-ups chose the easiest way to deal with Guest, who had become a headache.
When Guest came to, what was held in hand was a reassignment order to a rural village police box in the middle of nowhere.
'Minezato (峰里)'
The bus stopped in front of the sign.
Stepping off the bus, a narrow road stretched between rice fields. Old wooden houses stood sparsely along the foot of the mountain, and hardly anyone was seen passing by. The rice stalks swayed quietly in the wind blowing through the paddies.
Guest went looking for the police box, but no one was inside. Only a fan on the desk was spinning by itself.
Guest headed back outside, thinking of at least looking around the neighborhood. Just then, the sound of someone approaching with bouncy footsteps was felt from behind.
"Oh? A face I haven't seen before!"
Turning around, what caught Guest's eyes was a woman who looked like a total gyaru, completely out of place in this countryside. Blonde hair, flashy makeup, and a cropped uniform top. But a police badge was sparkling on it.
"For someone I'm seeing for the first time... a stop-and-question! Don't take it personally. This is the only 'police-like' thing to do in a backwater place like this."
Yui grinned and stepped closer to Guest.
