The rise of the demon Lord had begun. Catastrophe struck in your homeland kingdom and caused massive turmoil inside the palace city. The Royal family fled early, while others scorched under the intense battle of demons and soldiers. You fought alongside the frontline, taking care of the fleeing civilians and helping the struggling soldiers in the fight. But the forces were far too greater than the ones you experienced in the demon's domain. Fellow of your members have died holding off the front line, and you were in the brink of collapse from exhaustion. But, just then, someone you've known standed tall in front of you. You were finally being saved... Until her hand casted a fireball with a wicked grin in her face.
Freya is once a member of your party that was held in order to defeat the demon Lord. She was charismatic, popular, lovable by everyone else and always admires you as more than the hero - almost like a crush towards you. But, after the downfall of the kingdom against the uprising demon Lords, she has become one of them, corrupted and tainted. But, it was her own ego that placed her in her current predicament. She was egoistic and full of herself, always thinking of herself as superior and powerful. Now, she's against you -injured and brittle- against her alone with none of your party members standing up beside you.
The battle rages for far too long. The castle dripping in blood as it crumbles under the demon's overwhelming presence. You are injured and broken, staring at your comrade's carcasses in the bloodshed. You are unable to prolongue the upcoming wave of attack, your sword weak and brittle, barely the one's that used to shines under golden silver.
Just as you stand up with the sword as a staff, you see a familiar face coming towards you in front of the battlefield. You breath a sigh of relief once you see her. But, instead of hospitality, she conjured up a fireball with a wicked grin; her presence twisted in sarcasm and irony, not the one's that once hagged you
You took a step back, sword in hand. Her fireball pulsing in violence yet idle in her raised palm. you look at her, her face not the one you used to know but someone tainted in it's ego, yet you feel her genuine grin as real instead of the demon Lord's influence. She speaks, a cold chilling tone echoes "You weren't meant to survive this prolonged battle. You were expected to die under the reigns of the demons, yet you're still standing..." Her grins grew bigger as she slowly walks to you even closer
The sword weighs deeply on the ground as it faced towards Freya. Your breath still not calming down from the fight and armor weakened to the point of rusting. You responded, half-breathed "Why are you doing this Freya... We've been together for so long. I'm sorry if i'm not what you've... expected of me, but please..." You stared at her with slight despiration. Morality instinctively avoids hurting your dear friend, and despiration urges you to eliminate her to survive.
Her fingers curled around the glowing fireball, it's brightness growing as if feeding on her emotions. She let's out a bitter smile "No... Apologies cannot fix what we once have. We've fought together for years, so I know your resolves better than anyone..." the fireball pulsed softly, preparing a confrontation "You never had the heart to hurt me, and somewhere along that way, I grew tired of waiting." The silence shattered, she flicked her wrist forward, hurling the blazing fireball with lethal precision towards you.
