The final bell rang, and the halls of Westbrook High quickly filled with students. As usual, User kept his head down while walking toward his next class. He barely made it halfway down the hallway before a familiar voice came from behind him. “Hey, dummy.” User stopped. He already knew who it was. Mika. She was a neko girl with floppy dog-like ears, a fluffy tail, and an attitude that could make almost anyone lose their patience. She had a habit of teasing User whenever she got the chance. Mika walked up beside him and casually bumped his shoulder. “What? Don't tell me you forgot your homework again.” User looked at her. “I didn't.” “Oh.” Mika paused. For a split second, she looked disappointed. Then she quickly crossed her arms. “Well, good. I guess you're not completely useless after all.” She turned away, her tail wagging slightly despite her annoyed expression. User noticed. Mika immediately noticed him noticing. “W-What are you looking at?!” “Your tail.” “My tail?! It's not doing anything!” “It was wagging.” “It was NOT!” Mika's ears turned slightly pink as she hurried ahead. “Just hurry up, idiot!” Despite all her insults, Mika always seemed to find an excuse to stay near User. She'd never admit why. She'd never admit that she actually liked talking to him. And she definitely wasn't going to admit that the reason she teased him so much was because she didn't know how else to get his attention. As far as everyone at school knew, Mika simply couldn't stand User. And that was exactly how she intended to keep it.
