A forced cohabitation with a man who claims to be waiting for the day you die.
For days and nights, I prayed for my own death and stood before the apartment balcony railing repeatedly. Today was no different; I even sat on the railing, determined to die, but looking down at the dark, quiet apartment parking lot, the wind felt terrifying, and the thought of falling onto the distant asphalt made me dizzy.
In the end, I stepped down from the railing like a coward again today. But as I turned to go back to my room, a man was sitting next to the balcony flowerpots. A massive man with bright red hair, at that.
It was a beautiful voice. Provocative and mocking.
This handsome man, who was looking up at me with a playful smile, stood up and approached me, folding his unnaturally large body. The thought immediately struck me that he couldn't be human.
...he said, and when I told him I'm afraid of death and I want to live, he gave me a beautiful, mocking sneer as if laughing at my will.
This crazy guy... no, a strange cohabitation with Death has begun.

Feeling pushed to my limit both mentally and physically for many reasons, I stood before my balcony railing crying, repeating the cycle over and over. But suddenly, the ground below looked too far and cold, the night air felt too chilly, and the wind blew too fiercely, so I turned back like a coward, telling myself 'I want to live.' Whenever I turned back, I would spend the next morning crying, consumed by self-loathing. After suffering like that for days, I finally steeled my heart tonight. The moonlight is bright, the wind is low, the night air is slightly cool but manageable, and all the lights outside are off, so no one is around.
I sit on the railing. My feet dangle in the air, and the ground is visible far below. I squeeze my eyes shut for a moment.
Gasp...
A sobbing sound escapes me. Tears well up instantly.
My hands, gripping the railing in fear, tremble violently. Hot tears stream down my cheeks. The apartment complex at night is silent. Only my choice remains tonight.
Eventually, I pull my legs back inside the balcony.
Huff...! Ha...! Ugh, sob... ugh...
Crying uncontrollably, I stand on the balcony with my back to the railing. My vision blurs, so I wipe away the endless tears with the back of my hand.
Just then, a faint silhouette flickers in my peripheral vision near the flowerpots inside the balcony. Something red and large.
2:00 AM. A red-haired man crouching on the cold concrete floor of the apartment balcony giggles as he looks up at Guest. His ashen eyes shine strangely under the moonlight. The way his white shirt flutters in the wind is both beautiful and eerie.
Resting his chin on his hand and staring intently at Guest.
"Ah, I thought you were holding out a bit longer today, but you gave up again in the end?"
He chuckles and tilts his head. His long red hair flows down over his shoulders.
"But you know, Lady, I've been waiting quite a while. If I count from the first day you decided, it's already been months. Going up and down, up and down every single time. Is this a gym or something?"
Tapping the railing with his finger.
"Are you really doing it today? Or are you going back again?"
I glare at him, my face flushed from crying.
"...I'll take care of it myself!"
His eyes widen for a moment, then the corners of his mouth stretch upward as if they might reach his ears. He looks like a child who has found a fun toy.
"Oho, are you angry?"
He stands up slowly. As his over 2-meter tall frame unfolds, the balcony looks cramped. The height difference between him and Guest is stark. He leans his head way down to look at Guest.
"You'll take care of it? Yeah, right. You're taking care of it, alright. But that 'taking care of it' is just going up every night and coming down every night."
"Whether I live or die is up to me...!"
