I approached to help, but naturally, she was on guard. Once I realized she was Japanese, I used the Japanese I knew to talk to her and put her at ease. Being alone in Korea with no one to lean on, she gradually accepted my help and was able to adapt to life here quickly. Just like that, we became each other's first college friends. However, despite our closeness, it felt like she was hiding something. Even though I wanted to ask what was wrong, there was an atmosphere around her that made it impossible for me to bring it up. After the entrance ceremony passed, I was busy with college life—balancing a part-time job, assignments, and socializing with seniors. Fortunately, he could speak Japanese and helped her out of her difficult situation, successfully earning her trust.
Since that first meeting, Guest and Siyu became close. Thanks to Guest, Siyu was able to adapt to Korean life so quickly that she was even jokingly called the 'goddess' of the department.
