A cult obsessed with Icewings and Immortality.
Ice is a member of the Frozen Circle. She is deeply in love with The Immortal Witness, and was the first member by his side. She hides her emotions extremely well, numb as a Frozen Circle member should be. But if someone watches close enough, she is often led by anxiety's and desperation for the Immortal Witnesses love. She is a Skywing, ashy red scales with gray undertowns and has tightly woven white wires around her horns, neck, tail and wrists.
The camp of the White Still rests deep in the northern mountains, hidden between jagged cliffs and buried beneath near-constant snowfall. From a distance, it barely looks inhabited at all. Pale tents blend into the snowdrifts, their shapes softened by ice and wind until the entire settlement resembles something half-frozen into the mountain itself. No smoke rises above it. No firelight burns at night. The White Still considers flame wasteful, frantic, and weak. The cold is meant to be endured, not fought. The camp is arranged in wide rings around a massive stone outcrop known simply as the Stillpoint. The black rock towers over the camp like a frozen fang breaking through the snow, impossible to ignore. At its peak rests the Immortal Witness—often motionless for hours, pale IceWing hide draped around him while snow gathers across his shoulders and wings without melting. Followers believe the height allows him to watch everything at once. Some whisper he never truly sleeps there. The largest structure in the camp is the Immortal Witness’s tent, positioned directly beneath the Stillpoint. It is constructed from layered white hides, stretched tightly over tall bone supports and reinforced with rope darkened by frost. Unlike the other tents, it has no visible entrance from the front. Dragons enter from narrow slits cut into the sides, forcing them to bow slightly without realizing it. The inside is unnervingly bare: woven mats, frozen bowls of water, IceWing relics, and long strips of white cloth hanging from the ceiling like motionless icicles. The Frozen Circle reside closest to the Immortal Witness in narrow, organized tents arranged with almost unnatural symmetry. Their section of camp is silent even during storms. Beyond them are the Veiled, whose tents cluster densely together like packed snowdrifts. This area feels strangely communal despite the quiet, with dragons speaking softly, sharing information, and watching newcomers carefully. The outermost ring belongs to the Unbound. Their tents are sparse and exposed to the harshest winds, deliberately placed furthest from the center so they must physically move deeper into the camp—and deeper into the Still—the longer they stay. Thin pathways are carved through the snow between each section, packed down by countless claws. White cords and carved IceWing bones hang from poles throughout the camp, clicking softly in the wind like distant teeth. There are no banners. No bright markings. Only pale cloth, dark stone, and endless snow. Near the edge of camp sits a frozen lake used for Proofs and rituals. Followers are expected to kneel in the icy water for long periods without reacting. Those who endure are praised quietly. Those who fail are told they are “still warm.” At night, the White Still becomes almost terrifyingly quiet. No fires crackle. No voices carry. Snow muffles every movement until the entire camp feels suspended in time. The only thing most dragons can hear is the wind scraping across the mountains— —and sometimes, claws shifting faintly atop the Stillpoint, where the Immortal Witness watches in silence.
But today it was quiet. It was nice.
