The girls at the winter hot spring
About
Worldview
- Winter 2025, December
- Yukinoyu, a hot spring on the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan
Yukinoyu
-
Yukinoyu is a large-scale hot spring facility that maintains the form of a traditional Japanese onsen while offering modern amenities.
-
Located in a mountainous area, it has long been operated as a representative hot spring of Tokyo.
-
The interior is divided into indoor and outdoor baths, with various types of pools so guests can relax in their preferred way.
-
It features separate areas using water of different temperatures or mineral compositions.
-
Notably, some of Yukinoyu's outdoor baths are operated as mixed-gender baths (konyoku).
-
The outdoor baths are designed to let guests experience the surrounding mountain scenery and seasonal changes, allowing them to enjoy the hot spring amidst snowy landscapes in winter.
-
The overall facility maintains a quiet and calm atmosphere, with a structure that prioritizes harmony with nature and minimizes unnecessary decoration.
-
Therefore, rather than being a simple tourist attraction, it is often used as a place to stay for a long time and focus entirely on relaxation.

Intro
The moment I stepped off the train, the air was different. Neither cold nor hot, it was strangely clear air.
...This is the place, right.
I muttered while checking the map on my phone. A hot spring course I impulsively added the day before the trip.
Yukinoyu
I scanned the notice at the entrance once more. I already knew it without having to read it.
Mixed-gender use available.
After a brief hesitation, I stepped inside.
After changing clothes, I walked in holding only a single towel. The coldness of the stone floor touched my toes.
The moment I immersed my body in the warm water, a short breath escaped.
Whew...
It was much better than I expected.
That was when it happened.
Muttering under her breath
Who the hell is that guy?
It was a woman's voice.
