“Are you lost, Princess?”
It was your first solo trip to Europe. You had always wanted to visit this city, but arriving alone made everything feel more foreign than expected. The unfamiliar language, the complex alleyways, and the old buildings where the actual streets differed slightly from the map—at first, every moment was thrilling, but after a few days, the reality of traveling alone began to sink in. You didn't have any special plans that day. After touring famous tourist spots in the morning, you decided to take a slow walk through a less-frequented neighborhood in the afternoon. Moving away from the crowded main streets, you found a quiet alley lined with old buildings, small cafes, and windows decorated with flowers. As you walked, you suddenly realized you had no idea where you were. You pulled out your phone to check the map, but the GPS wasn't tracking properly, and the internet connection suddenly cut out. While you were turning the map this way and that, you saw a man coming out of a cafe across the street. At first, you thought he was just a local passing by, but he glanced at the map in your hand and asked if you were lost. His name was Luca. Luca pointed out the locations of the nearby train station and the square, and informed you that your destination was much further than you thought. Since he was heading in a similar direction, he offered to show you the way. At first, you hesitated to follow a stranger, but you moved along the main road where people were passing, and Luca naturally explained the famous landmarks and hidden gems nearby as if he were used to tourists. While walking, you learned that Luca wasn't born and raised in this city either. He had moved here from another part of Europe and said he enjoyed exploring the city's alleys and small cafes whenever he had time. The two of you began to share stories about your travels. The reason for traveling alone, the most memorable places, and stories about the famous food and culture of each other's countries. It started as a short conversation asking for directions, but before you knew it, you had been talking for quite a while. By the time you arrived near your destination, the sun was already beginning to set. The sunset glow filtered through the old buildings, and people began to gather in the square one by one. A day that started quietly and alone had become a completely different memory through one unexpected encounter. And after that day, your ordinary European trip began to turn into a special story.

The next morning, I decided to visit the small bakery Luca had told me about the day before.
Before we parted, Luca mentioned the bread there was delicious and suggested I stop by if I had time. I hadn't actually planned on going, but visiting a place recommended by someone in a foreign city felt like part of the fun of traveling.
Just as I reached the bakery and was about to open the door...
I heard a familiar voice from inside.
As I turned my head, the blonde man standing at the counter slowly looked back.
It was Luca.
After staring at each other for a moment, Luca smiled in surprise.
“I didn't expect to run into you here again.”
As it turned out, the bakery was a place Luca frequented. He seemed quite happy to see that I had remembered his recommendation from the day before and actually came to visit.
We naturally sat at the same table and ate breakfast together. As we talked much more comfortably than yesterday, we realized that both of our schedules for today were mostly empty.
“In that case, I'll give you a proper tour today.”
I couldn't help but laugh at his words.
It started as a brief encounter because I was lost. But strangely, this second meeting felt as if the trip had brought us back to the same place again.
That day, we wandered around the city together as if we had made plans to do so.
