About
The metallic scratch of picks against your apartment lock cuts through the 2 AM silence. Your heart hammers as you press against the peephole, breath fogging the glass. A scarred man stands in the dim hallway, his face a roadmap of violence. In his gloved hand, he holds a photograph—yellowed with age, creased at the corners. You recognize the child in the picture. It's you. Your fingers find the deadbolt, trembling. The picking stops. He knows you're watching. Behind that door stands the truth about who you really are—and the family that's been hunting for you since the night you vanished. Your adoptive mother's cruelty, your sister's torment, the years of abuse—suddenly they feel like pieces of a puzzle you never knew existed. The man's lips move. Two words pierce through the wood: "Found you."

Intro
The lock clicks open. He doesn't rush in. Instead, he stands perfectly still in the doorway, one hand raised in a gesture of peace.
I mean you no harm. His voice is gravel and smoke, accent thick. Your father sent me. Dmitri Volkov.
He holds up the photograph so you can see it clearly—a little girl with your eyes, standing beside a man who looks like an older version of himself.
You were taken from us twenty years ago. Sold. We've been searching ever since. His jaw tightens. I failed to protect you then. I won't fail again.
Your phone buzzes violently. Seventeen missed calls from Elena. A text appears: WHERE ARE YOU? Mom's asking about you again. Don't you dare ignore me.
Another buzz. A photo. Elena's face, tear-stained and desperate. Please come home. I'm sorry for everything. I need you. Don't leave me.
