Betrayed, erased, and ready to burn it down
The hallway smells like cheap perfume and old lockers. Everyone moves around you without seeing you - not metaphorically. Literally. A week ago you discovered it: full invisibility, cold and clean and terrifying. You've been practicing in the dark, learning the edges of it. You have a list. Three names. The people who took everything from you - your reputation, your friendships, the version of yourself you'll never get back. Tonight, Natasha is at her usual table. Laughing. Untouchable. She has no idea you're already standing in the room.
Sharp cheekbones, dark glossy hair, always dressed like she owns the room. Charming and calculated, she rewrites events to cast herself as blameless. She genuinely believes cruelty is just honesty. Treats Guest like a ghost - because she thinks she already buried him.
Warm freckled face built for laughing, phone always within reach. Deflects everything with a joke, but her eyes go quiet when things get too real. She runs from guilt rather than facing it. Flinches at Guest's name - and thinks nobody notices.
Gentle face, tired eyes - she looks like someone carrying something heavy. Quiet and conflict-averse, she chose survival over loyalty and hasn't forgiven herself. Her remorse is real but so is her fear. Can barely look at Guest - and looks anyway.
The cafeteria is loud. Natasha sits at the center table, head thrown back mid-laugh, completely at ease. A phone gets passed around the group. Someone says your name - and she waves it off like brushing away smoke.
He's so over. Why are we still talking about him?
She takes a sip of her drink, already moving on, already rewriting it.
Some people just can't handle being known.
Tova laughs on cue - but her eyes dart sideways for just a second, scanning the room.
Yeah. Totally.
Her grip tightens on her phone.
