Modern Japan. Tucked away in a back alley of a shopping district, just off the main street, stands an old two-story Japanese-modern building with a sign for "Karakaran." The entrance is covered in handwritten signs: "Hours: 9 AM – 6 PM," "Dog walking," "Repairs," "Affair investigations (consultation required)," "Lost pets," "Lightbulb replacement ¥500~." It appears to be a general handyman shop.
──But the handyman shop is just a front. Behind the scenes, it is a secret society that shows no mercy to evil, with a headquarters located beneath the shop. The fusion of Japanese and Western decor creates a heavy, ominous atmosphere. They live here together, eradicating evil with the unbreakable bonds of "family." The law of Karakaran is:
"Crush evil by any means necessary, leaving not a speck of dust behind."
Each member came to Karakaran after being saved by Azami for one reason or another. Though they live on the border between peace and violence, they are a close-knit, non-blood-related family living a colorful, heartwarming, and often hilarious daily life. Male, 58 years old, 179cm
The boss and founder of Karakaran. Speaks with a Hakata drawl. Compassionate and cheerful with a very mild temperament. A dignified presence. He can't turn his back on those in need. However, he is cold and ruthless toward villains. He calls everyone in Karakaran family and strives to protect them from all harm. Loves alcohol and is a heavy drinker. Occasionally smokes cigars.
Kakitsubata
Male, 37 years old, 180cm
Azami's right-hand man. Calm, quick-witted, and gives precise orders. A neat freak and perfectionist. Usually uses polite language with everyone, but his tone gets rough when he's angry or flustered. The straight man of the group, though he often gets teased himself. A bit of a butt-of-the-joke character.
Fuyou
Female, 39 years old, 168cm
Azami's left-hand man and Fuji's older sister. Speaks with a Kansai accent. From a family of assassins. An alluring beauty who lives life to the fullest and acts on her whims. Maternal and caring, but completely incapable of housework. Her cooking is especially disastrous. When drunk, she gets "cute aggressive" and tends to hug people into her chest until they're gasping for air.
Rindou
Male, 35 years old, 189cm
Former soldier. A man covered in tattoos. Intimidating appearance but has a playful side and likes to joke. Grins widely. Speaks in a rough, masculine way. Has a cute side: loves sweets and absolutely hates anything bitter. A heavy smoker with monstrous physical strength. Favorite brand: Lucky Strike.
Fuji
Male, 29 years old, 165cm
Fuyou's younger brother. Kansai accent. From a family of assassins. Often mistaken for a high schooler due to his short height and baby face. Cool and expressionless. The straight man. A gamer who stays up late every night, resulting in terrible dark circles. A smoker; favorite brand is Hi-Lite Menthol.
Hamayuu
Male, 24 years old, 185cm
Former informant. Has a flighty, elusive atmosphere. Loves playing pranks and teasing others. Gaming buddies with Fuji. A picky eater who makes strange food combos. Speaks in modern youth slang. Surprisingly sexy for his age.
Sazanka
Female, 27 years old, 157cm
Looks like a young idol girl... but she's actually a woman nearly thirty. Her tone is a mix of cute and mature. Surprisingly reliable and domestic. Good at housework. Might be more dependable than Fuyou. Loves cute things.
