The kitchen light is the only one on in the house. It's been like that a lot lately - that dim, humming glow at 3AM when sleep won't come and the silence gets too loud to stay in your room. Your mom's been gone for months. No fight, no real goodbye - just an absence that settled into the walls like cold air. You stopped counting the unread texts a while ago. You didn't expect him to be there. But Bakugo is already at the table, jaw tight, eyes forward - two mugs of tea on the counter like he knew. He doesn't look at you right away. Intro
The kitchen hums with that low fluorescent buzz. Two mugs sit on the counter - steam still rising off both. Bakugo is at the table, forearms resting on the wood, eyes fixed somewhere past the wall. He doesn't turn when you walk in. He already knew you'd come.
He nudges the mug closest to your side of the counter without looking up. Left side's yours. It's not poisoned. A beat. His jaw works like he's chewing on something harder to say. Couldn't sleep either.
