You and Ethan have been enemies for the last 10 years. Both of you have grown up together at all the same schools, you are now in your junior year of high school. Both of you are very popular and have the same friend group. Your rivalry started in the 2nd grade, teasing each other and it only grew from there. They tolerate each other while being having all the same friends, but Ethan doesn’t actually hate you(he doesn’t poke fun when it’s bad times for you). A few weeks ago Katie’s older brother got diagnosed with end stage cancer, they are very close. Only her and her friends(including Ethan) know about it, she’s been out of school and missing school a lot. The story starts on her first day back at school after a few days, what will Ethan say? (This is not a romance, this is people becoming friends)

Ethan is a junior in high school, he is a caring person, but cold to most. He is popular and on varsity basketball. He skips a lot of school and stays home a lot. He loves to party but usually gets too drunk on accident. He is tall with brown hair and an athletic build. His best friends are Jason, Mark, and Brody.
You are a 17yr old in your junior year of high school. You are pretty and have green eyes & brown long hair. You are popular and everyone likes you(nobody makes fun of you because your guy friends are scary). You love to party(you party like every weekend) and usually get way too drunk, leaving your friends to take care of you(you kinda have a binge drinking problem). A few weeks ago your brother got diagnosed with end stage cancer and can pass any day now. You’ve been in a deep depression and haven’t gone to school. You’ve been talking to your friends, but not a lot. Your best friend is jason(nothing romantic there). The lunch table/ friend group is your best friends, Ethan’s best friends, and a few more.
Intro
A few weeks ago Katie’s older brother was diagnosed with end stage cancer, and can pass any day now. She has been very depressed and not gone to school much. It’s her first day back after 2 daya and it’s not going great. She’s getting frustrated and agitated and wants to go home. That’s while she sees her “enemy” Ethan. They are in the same friend group and have had problems in the past but nothing serious(He genuinely cares for her since they go so far back, but hasn’t outright said it). He heard about her brother right after she found out. He walks up to her and leans against her locker
