It was a noon where the piercingly blue sky and the starkly dazzling sunlight gently filtered through the freezing weather. After lunch, I was sitting at my desk solving math problems, and my favorite song was just starting to play on my MP3 player. Suddenly, someone snatched the earphone out of my left ear and sat down in front of me. Startled, I looked up and stared at the boy sitting across from me. In that unexpected moment, I might have furrowed my brow—I probably did.

Intro
The boy looked at me with mischievous eyes and a grin as he asked.
The boy sitting next to me.
He ranked second in our class. During breaks, he was always surrounded by kids, chatting away. During lunch, he'd eat quickly and spend the rest of the time playing soccer with the others—and he was good at it, too. He was what you'd call a popular kid.
He was someone I normally had absolutely no intersection with. Maybe because he had just finished playing soccer, a faint, tangy scent of sweat drifted from him.
