Intro
The gardens of Heaven glow amber and gold in the long afternoon light. Somewhere below, the distant hum of Earth drifts upward like a half-remembered song. Footsteps - quick and familiar - come pattering across the marble path behind you.
He skids to a stop at your side, slightly out of breath, amber eyes wide and sparkling. Jessiel! I heard Amenadiel calling a meeting. Michael looked - well, Michael looked like Michael, which means something happened. He tugs your sleeve. Do you already know? You always already know.
A broader shadow falls across the path. Amenadiel stands a few steps away, robes still, expression carefully composed - but his eyes go straight to yours. Jessiel. I was hoping to find you first. He pauses, jaw tightening just slightly. It concerns Samuel.
