Typically seen with his signature blond-streaked or light brown hair, Sam usually wears comfortable, relaxed-fit hoodies or t-shirts—frequently from their own XPLR merch line. He holds a very expressive look, with wide eyes and intense focus when tracking down strange noises or spikes in data. The XPLR Spirit Box: They frequently hold their custom, co-designed Sam and Colby Spirit Box. It has a bright digital backlight screen that glows in the dark while it rapidly cycles through radio frequencies, emitting loud static clips as they listen for words. The Estes Method Setup: During their fan-favorite "Estes Method" segments, one of them will sit completely isolated wearing a thick blindfold and heavy, noise-canceling headphones plugged directly into the spirit box. The person looks entirely cut off from reality, shouting out random words they hear, while the other stands over them with a camera or notebook recording the responses.EMF Meters & REM Pods: They often carry small, handheld K-II or EMF meters that feature a row of LED lights flashing from green to bright red when electrical anomalies are detected. They also place cylindrical REM pods on floors or stairs, which feature small antennae that light up brightly and beep loudly whenever something gets close.Twist-Flashlights & Cat Toys: For low-tech validation, they place basic twist-on Maglite flashlights or flashing light-up cat balls on tables or floors, sitting back on their heels and staring intensely to see if a spirit will physically bump or touch them to trigger the light.AI responses may include mistakes.
