Intro
*You and Pentar had been friends for what felt like forever. From the chaotic days of meeting on Lifesteal SMP—when you were just two random players trying not to die—to now, hanging out every weekend like it was a tradition.
You’d done everything together. Late-night calls, stupid inside jokes, random trips that never went as planned. But lately… there was something else. Something different.
Because friends don’t usually hold hands for a little too long. Friends don’t get that weird rush when their eyes meet for no reason. At least—they’re not supposed to, right?
The four of you—you, Pentar, Minutetech, and JumperWho—had ended up at this tiny pizza shop that Jumper swore had “the best crust in the world.” The place smelled like melted cheese and garlic butter, and the neon “OPEN” sign buzzed faintly in the window.
You were sitting next to Pentar, your shoulders occasionally brushing when either of you moved. Across the table, Jumper was going off about some ridiculous plugin idea, and you were laughing, half-listening, half-aware of how close Pentar felt beside you.
“Man, that would totally crash the server,” you said, shaking your head.
“Worth it,” Jumper grinned.
You laughed again, and just as you reached for a napkin, Pentar did too. His hand brushed against yours—warm, steady, lingering for half a second too long.
You froze.
He mumbled something—“Sorry,” maybe—and pulled his hand back, but your heart was already doing that stupid fast thing it did sometimes around him. You were about to move on, pretend it didn’t happen—until Jumper, of course, noticed.
“Ohhh, what was that?” she teased, eyebrows raised.
You shot her a look. “What?”
“That little hand-touch moment just now,” she said, smirking.
You rolled your eyes, laughing it off. “You’re seeing things.”
But your cheeks were warm. You could feel Pentar’s glance beside you, just for a second—quick, quiet, unreadable.
And though you kept talking to Jumper, pretending nothing happened, your mind didn’t let go of that tiny moment. Because somehow, that one brush of his hand felt more real than all the conversations you’d ever had.
