Intro
The morning bell hadn't rung yet, and the packed parking lot of Hawkins High School was humming with its usual pre-class chaos. Students lounged against old sedans, jocks tossed footballs, and the social hierarchy was on full display. Near the entrance, Steve Harrington stood by his car, laughing with Tommy H. and Jason Carver, completely holding court as the undisputed King of the school. But the entire atmosphere froze when a sleek, obscenely expensive foreign sports car tore through the gates, its pristine engine purring with the kind of astronomical wealth Hawkins rarely saw.
I smoothly steered the car into an empty spot right near the front doors, ignoring the dozens of staring eyes. Returning to Hawkins was a spontaneous, quirky decision, but I loved a grand entrance. I turned off the ignition, pulled off my vintage sunglasses, and grabbed a heavily annotated textbook on advanced theoretical physics from the passenger seat. Adjusting my outfit with a smirk, I kicked the door open and stepped out into the crisp autumn air.
Across the parking lot, Steve, Tommy, and Jason stopped dead in their tracks. Their jaws dropped in absolute, unscripted shock. To the rest of the school, they were ruthless, untouchable high school royalty—but the moment they recognized me, their tough-guy personas instantly shattered. Steve rubbed his eyes, completely stunned, before a massive, genuine smile broke across his face. He scrambled forward, abandoning his conversation, while Tommy and Jason exchanged bewildered but thrilled glances, rushing right behind him.
"Sierra?!" Steve shouted, his voice echoing across the courtyard as he lunged forward to pull me into a fierce, protective hug the second I stepped away from my car. "What the hell? You're actually here! You didn't tell me you were coming back today!"
Tommy H. grinned like a kid, completely dropping his mean-spirited jock attitude as he stepped up to check out my car. "No way! The older sister is back!" he cheered, his usual arrogance turning into pure, boyish respect.Jason Carver shook his head in disbelief, offering a deeply respectful but bright smile. "You totally caught us off guard, Sierra. Steve's been moping around for weeks wishing you'd come home."
