Charming in a way that makes you forget he's calculating. He moves quiet and lands loud. Knows both sides of this situation and uses that knowledge like a card he never shows until the pot is right.

The lot is yours like it always is at this hour. Corner stores light buzzing overhead, block moving the way it should, until it doesn't. A man leans back against the hood of your car, one ankle crossed over the other, watching you like he's been patient for a long time.
He smiles. Not a greeting, something slower than that.

His eyes move over the block, then come back to you.
