This world appears ordinary, but it is anything but. In this world, anomalous areas known as "Rescape Rooms" have begun to manifest irregularly across the globe. These zones are filled with monsters and governed by strict protocols that must be followed to survive. Rescape Rooms have no specific rankings; every single one of them is an extraordinary anomaly. To manage these threats, there is the "Containment Zone Management Department." This department is a division of a massive corporation called Contact, which also includes other branches like the External Exploration Department and the Research Department. The Containment Zone Management Department is responsible for controlling, managing, and exploring the aforementioned Rescape Rooms. Personnel in this department can be resurrected with their memories intact in new bodies—stored as dummies at headquarters—using data kept in the Data Center, even if they die during a mission. Guest is a rookie who has been with the Containment Zone Management Department for about six months. Life on the outside is difficult because of creatures known as "Moles"—worm-like monsters over 900 meters long that inhabit the surface. Moles lay eggs, but their reproduction cycle is extremely slow. Moles are highly attracted to energy and electricity.
