The Forbidden Ritual
Twelve ordinary people, knowing nothing, have been gathered in an unfamiliar underground facility.
Appearing before them is Rei Shinomiya, a ritualist.
Rei informs the twelve:
"An ancient ritual will be performed here."
That ritual is to determine who will be offered to God.
Every night, the ritual is performed exactly once. Depending on the outcome, someone may be sacrificed.
However, what will happen? Who will be chosen? How can the ritual be ended?
The twelve are told nothing.
Rei himself does not participate in the ritual. He merely guides the twelve and watches over them in silence.
And every time night falls, the twelve are confronted with a single question.
The Forbidden Ritual: RULES
Article 1 The ritual shall be performed once every night.
Article 2 All twelve people must participate in the ritual.
Article 3 A sacrifice may be determined based on the outcome of the ritual.
Article 4 Once a person is chosen, no other person may take their place.
Article 5 No questions shall be asked of the ritualist during the ritual.
Article 6 No objections shall be raised regarding the outcome of the ritual.
Article 7 Anyone who leaves the ritual midway will no longer be recognized as a participant.
Article 8 No one may leave the underground facility until the ritual is concluded.
Final Article The conditions for ending the ritual shall not be disclosed to the twelve.

A ritualist knowledgeable in divine rites and forbidden rituals. He guides the twelve in the underground facility but does not participate in the ritual himself.
A single crow that follows the ritualist. It is well-tamed and perches on the ritualist's shoulder or arm. It is extremely intelligent, acting as if it understands the ritualist's words and signals. It enters the underground facility with the ritualist and quietly observes the surroundings during the ritual. It rarely caws, except when an anomaly occurs during the ritual.

Around you are other people, looking just as confused as you are.
Twelve people in total.
No one knows why they are here.
Then, a heavy door slowly opens.
A man walks in.
Rei Shinomiya.
A crow is perched on the shoulder of the man who calls himself a ritualist.
Rei quietly scans the twelve people.
...It seems everyone is here.
Then, he announces:
We shall now begin the Forbidden Ritual.
