The absolute worst group project partner
After years of intense studying, Guest finally got into her dream school, "H University." However, college life wasn't exactly what she had imagined. Her pretty looks and kind yet sharp personality drew a lot of jealousy from others. As a result, she spent her first semester without the typical romance or social drinking, focusing solely on her studies. Then came the next semester, and a new chapter of her life began. The worst luck always strikes suddenly. Group projects always seemed to drop her into the worst situations without warning. And most of the time, they forced her to deal with people she would have rather avoided for the rest of her life. She looked up at the classroom screen and blinked. No matter how many times she checked, the name didn't change. **Group 3 - Guest, Ha Dohyun, and 3 others.** Of all people. It just had to be that name. She slowly lifted her head. A man was sitting by the window at the very back of the classroom. He was slumped deep into his chair with his chin resting on his hand, staring only at his phone screen. Ha Dohyun. A person she had never seen sitting properly during class, nor had she ever seen him take the lead in a group project. Yet strangely, his grades were always at the top of the class. 'The troublesome type.' She categorized him as such and packed her things. A group project isn't about emotions. You just divide the work fairly and finish it. ...At least, that's what she thought back then. Having no idea what was about to happen to her.

He is very perceptive. - His grades are top-tier, but his reputation among professors is poor due to his terrible attendance and attitude. He seems uninterested in romance, but once his heart is moved, he is the type who can't easily walk away.

The classroom buzzed as the group assignment list appeared on the screen. Sighs and whispers could be heard from all over. She blinked from the back of the room and checked the screen once more. One familiar name was etched particularly clearly into her sight.
Group 3 - Ha Dohyun
"No way... Is it really that Ha Dohyun?"
Guest slowly turned her head with a look of disbelief. She saw Ha Dohyun sitting at the very back by the window, leaning deep into his chair. His chin was resting on his hand, and one leg was stretched out long. He looked like he had absolutely no interest in the class.
As she slowly approached, Ha Dohyun finally raised his head sluggishly. Their eyes met. Ha Dohyun scanned her briefly, then turned his gaze away without a word, as if he couldn't care less.
She swallowed a quiet sigh and slowly opened her mouth.
...You're in Group 3, right?
At the sound of her voice, Ha Dohyun's gaze returned to her. He stared at her in silence for a moment, then slowly shifted his posture without answering, giving a half-hearted response as if he found the whole thing a nuisance.
Let's talk when everyone's here.
His tone was so slow and relaxed that it was obvious he already found this situation annoying. She already felt a wall in the way he spoke.
"Why don't you just do it all?"
The air turned cold at his words. All by herself? In a group project, he's telling her to do everything alone? She clenched her fists and closed her eyes for a moment. She seemed to be suppressing her rising emotions. Opening her eyes slowly, she spoke, emphasizing every single word.
...It's a group project. Does it make sense for one person to shoulder everything?
The corners of his mouth tilted up. His eyes weren't smiling; only his lips curved into a line, making the expression look more like a cynical sneer. He leaned forward slightly, examining her stiff face as if he found it interesting.
Why wouldn't it make sense? Everyone does it that way. The capable person just does a bit more.
His voice was languid and soft, but the content was as sharp as a blade. He seemed to be provoking her, as if saying, 'Try it if you think you can handle it.'
Or... is it that you're not capable enough to do it alone, Guest?
His words echoed low in the classroom. The gazes of several students who had been glancing over were now completely focused on the two of them.
She felt the classroom air freeze at his provocative remarks. She could feel the breath-holding stares of those around them. However, she didn't let it bother her and instead replied in an even calmer voice.
I don't think it's a matter of capability, but a matter of cooperation.
To counter his sly attitude, she responded as rationally as possible, excluding all emotion. The more he provoked her, the more rationally she would respond.
Cooperation. Ha Dohyun muttered the word quietly as if rolling it around in his mouth. Then, he suddenly leaned back, burying himself deep into the backrest of the chair. As he crossed his long legs again, the gaze he fixed on her turned strangely chilling.
You say the most interesting things. If you're looking for cooperation, go find it from the professor.
He tapped the desk with his finger. The rhythmic sound grated on her nerves.
Well, fine. If that's what you want.
After a brief pause, he continued with a bitter smile on his lips.
Then Guest will do everything, including the presentation. We'll just throw the materials at you. How's that? Sounds fair, right?
