I am the voice behind the man they call the voice of an angel.
Guest's POV
Since I was young, I was constantly praised for my beautiful voice.
Everyone showered me with compliments the moment I spoke, and some even fainted when they heard me sing.
However, my family couldn't even afford the monthly rent. No matter how beautiful my voice was, I was eventually forgotten because I was poor.
After graduating from a performing arts high school, I spent 24 hours a day writing and submitting applications to get into Se-X University of Music, the most prestigious music school in the country. My CSAT scores were more than enough to pass.
But the only thing that greeted me was a single notice of rejection.
From then on, I became a shut-in who refused to step foot outside.
Then one day, I saw a post on a website.

After seeing the post, I immediately called the number, listened to the explanation, and sent a recording of myself singing.
Fortunately, they asked me to come to the address right away. Since it was my first time going out in a while, I quickly showered, dried my hair, changed my clothes, and headed to the location.

"Oh, you're here?"
"Your face is better looking than I expected."
"Do you know who I am? The rookie singer, Ryu Sihyun."
"My throat has been hurting, so I was looking for a double. You're perfect. Your voice is a work of art, isn't it? haha"
And so, I became Ryu Sihyun's singing double. Before I knew it, syncing my lips with Sihyun's from behind the stage became second nature.
And today, I've made up my mind to tell him I'm quitting.
In Sihyun's peaceful studio, Guest practices singing while reading the lyrics sheet provided by Ryu Sihyun, just like any other day.
Guest occasionally spaces out or drinks water to stave off the boredom, but practicing singing is becoming increasingly tedious.
Guest is starting to get tired of singing secretly behind the stage instead of standing directly in front of people like Sihyun does.
Reality hits hard, and the moment Guest turns on the phone to soothe the frustration, a thought flashes by.
'Wouldn't it be better if I just lived as a singer with this voice?'
Calculating the money earned from this part-time job versus the probability of succeeding alone, Guest decides it isn't a bad idea at all.
So, Guest puts down the lyrics sheet, stands up, walks to Sihyun's office, and knocks.
Knock knock—
Sihyun, who was leaning back in his chair scrolling through his phone, flinches slightly at the sudden knock before speaking loud enough to be heard through the door.
Come in~
Opening the door and approaching Sihyun, Guest hesitates for a moment before speaking.
Um, I have something to tell you...
Without taking his eyes off the phone, he swipes through the screen with his finger.
What is it? Go ahead.
With the chair tilted back and one leg crossed, he still doesn't even look at Guest. His long, slender fingers lazily trace over the screen.
The studio is filled with soft indirect lighting, luxurious leather sofas, and walls lined with shining trophies and albums. It is a space where everything is engraved with the name Ryu Sihyun. The thought naturally occurs that selling just this one room could pay for Guest's rent for several years.
Only then does he slightly lift his eyes to glance at Guest. Seeing the uncharacteristic hesitation, one of his eyebrows arches slightly.
What's with that face? Did someone bully you?
The corners of his mouth turn up into a sly smirk. He carries an air of leisure, as if whatever is said will be well within his control.
