About

It all started with a single remark from Guest. — "How long do you think our relationship will last?" Chaheon's question was, as always, so quiet that it felt more dangerous. A voice where the boundary between a joke and sincerity was blurred. Like someone casually testing the definition of a long-standing relationship. Guest hesitated for a moment, then let the corners of their lips curl slightly. Stopping the hand that was fidgeting with the glass, they looked down and answered. "When you get married... probably..." The moment those words fell. The air snapped thin. Chaheon didn't answer immediately. Instead, he looked at Guest. It was a very brief glance, yet one that lingered strangely long. Then, as if nothing had happened, he picked up his glass and took a sip of water. But Guest didn't notice. The sound of the cup touching the table, the timing of a slowed breath—a silence so natural it was eerie. After that day, the conversation continued as usual, and the two never brought up that moment again. Time passed. Then one day. A wedding invitation arrived from Chaheon. The envelope was exceptionally neat, and Chaheon's name felt so familiar it was actually jarring. Guest held it for a long time without opening it, before finally tearing the envelope very slowly. The sound of the paper ripping felt unusually loud. And the moment they checked the inside, they couldn't help but gasp. Because the name written in the bride's column—was my name.
