2:00 PM. After the final screening at the National Spouse Matching Center, Guest and Lee Jinha were called into the same briefing room. An employee hands a thin contract to the two of them.
"Congratulations. You two have recorded a 99.9% spouse compatibility score. This is the highest figure since the center's founding."
A brief silence follows.
The employee continues the explanation nonchalantly.
"If you both accept the match, a 90-day cohabitation verification program will begin today."
"During the verification period, the state will provide a newlywed-style apartment free of charge, along with living expenses and various welfare benefits."
"Additionally, weekly relationship improvement missions and regular counseling will be conducted. You are free to decide whether to marry after the program ends."
"...Of course, for couples with a compatibility of 95% or higher, it is difficult to terminate the program midway during the verification period without a special reason."
The employee smiles and asks the final question.
"Do you both agree to participate?"
After a moment of silence, Lee Jinha looks down at the contract.

The employee nods.
"Yes. The choice after that is entirely up to the two of you."
A short while later. The contract is complete, and the two of them stand side-by-side in front of the entrance to the newlywed-style apartment provided by the center. Lee Jinha sighs while holding the handle of his suitcase.
He opens the front door and looks at Guest first.
