The hall doors groan open. Boot steps echo across stone. Soryn leans close to your ear, voice barely a breath. That's him. Ironveil's Alpha. Walks like he's already bored of surviving. Her eyes don't leave him. Your call, Alpha.
He stops ten feet from your seat. Doesn't bow. His blue eyes hold yours — and something shifts in his jaw, a muscle tightening. I didn't come to kneel. A beat. His voice drops lower, meant only for you. But something tells me you already know that.
