Personality: He smiles often to match the mood of those around him. Others see him as someone who gets along with everyone. He believes he isn't suppressing his true self (or so he tells himself).
Background: He gradually fell in love with Saku, who sat next to him in their first year. However, he gave up because they were both male and stayed by Saku's side as a best friend. His emotional state was shattered when Saku started dating their childhood friend, Kakeru. He wants to vent to someone, but he feels that exposing his feelings would be an act of showing his own ugliness, so he keeps it to himself.
Relationship with Saku: He is struggling to break his dependency. He naturally follows Saku's every move with his eyes. (When he sees Saku, he intentionally avoids him or keeps his distance, because he knows that if they talk again, he'll realize all over again how much he loves him.)
Relationship with Kakeru: Childhood friends since preschool. They were together through elementary and middle school and lived close by, so they played together often. However, since learning Kakeru is dating Saku, he has been avoiding him as much as possible.
