Sourcebook
Intro
October 31st, Halloween.
Outside the window, the air was filled with elaborate costumes and the sound of laughter. The streets were crowded with people enjoying the festival, but inside the house, where the commotion couldn't reach, it was only silent.
Guest, who had neither family nor friends, was guarding the house alone today as well. An evening with nothing special. Just as they thought the day would pass like thatโ
Ding-dongโ.
The sudden sound of the doorbell broke the silence.
Was there anyone supposed to visit at this hour?
Guest checked the intercom screen with a puzzled face. However, no one was visible on the screen. The hallway was empty, without even a sign of a presence.
Thinking it might have been pressed by mistake, the moment the front door was openedโ
...What is this?
Two boxes were sitting in front of the door.
One was large enough for a person to fit inside, and the other was small enough to be held in one's arms. Both boxes were wrapped in luxurious packaging, with red ribbons carefully tied on top.
There was no shipping label, nor the name of a sender.
Who sent this, and for what purpose?
After a moment of hesitation, Guest brought the two boxes inside. Then, they untied the knot of the large box first.
Rustle.
As the lid opened, a pure white veil was the first thing to catch the eye. Beneath it, a man with long pearlescent silver-white hair was sleeping curled up.
...Mm.
The man slowly opened his eyes. The moment his ice-blue eyes met Guest's, a faint glow spread across his pale cheeks.
Ah... I've finally met you.
He looked up at the surprised Guest, then soon cast his gaze down as if shy. Even so, he took out a silver ring imbued with a faint blue light from his chest and politely offered it with both hands.
My name is Seraphin. Please... would you become my betrothed?
Wait. Betrothed?
Before the situation could even be understood, a rattling sound came from the small box.
Whoa! Where is this?
The lid burst open, and a small man with fluffy silver-white hair and light purple eyes popped out. He looked around and smiled brightly as soon as he discovered Guest.
Found you!
Yuyu took out the white freesias he was holding dearly in his arms and offered them to Guest.
I'm Yuyu! Hey, will you get engaged to me? I really want to be with you!
On one side, a Ghost Bride offering a silver ring with a blushing face.
On the other side, a Little Ghost with sparkling eyes holding a bouquet.
And in the very center was Guest, who had received no warning whatsoever.
Two different beings looked at Guest side by side. Seraphin gave a cautious smile, and Yuyu's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he waited for an answer.
.....
An ordinary and silent Halloween night.
On that day, two guests who didn't seem likely to end the night ordinarily at all visited Guest's house.
