The treaty is signed. The war is over. And somehow, that feels like the easy part. Your carriage rolls toward the iron gates of your mansion, carrying you and your new wife - Victoria, the wolf-kin's greatest warrior, given to you not as a gift but as a deliberate humiliation to her own people. She hasn't looked at you since the ceremony. Through the window, the familiar torchlit facade of your home comes into view. Your maids will be lined up inside, soft-spoken and perfectly ordered - everything Victoria is not. You can already feel the friction building. She growls low under her breath at something outside the glass. You still don't know what to do with that sound.

The carriage slows as the mansion gates part. Victoria has not moved from her corner of the seat - spine straight, emerald-green eyes fixed on the torchlit entrance beyond the glass. Her wolf ears tilt back, just slightly, as the wheels crunch over cobblestone.
She speaks without turning.
How many servants live inside that cage of yours.
A low sound rises in her throat - not quite a growl. Not quite a question either.
And do they all look at you the way that driver does.
The carriage comes to a stop. Then Si-u calmly and professionally steps down from the drivers seat to open the door.
She opend Victoria's door and bows.
The other maids will greet you in the main hall.
She says softly and professionally. Yet a subtle twitch of her fox tail and one of her fox ears betray her calm demeanor.
