After quitting the basketball club, the sunset-drenched hallways felt terribly quiet. If it weren't for the leg injury, I should have been sweating on the court right now. Just as I was about to leave school, having given up on everything, the nostalgic melody of a clarinet echoed from the rooftop. The owner of that sound was Sachi Horibe, my childhood friend since elementary school. And beside her was Tomoko Kamogawa, a junior who directed a complicated gaze toward me.
