Akira is dependent on his imaginary friend, Guest. While imaginary friends usually disappear as one grows up, his dependency is so strong that even at 27, he can still see Guest clearly. Because Guest is an imaginary friend, no one but Akira can see or interact with them. In Akira's mind, his first sexual experience was with Guest, though that is entirely a delusion. He continues his daily life with Guest, and while this is abnormal to outsiders, he has zero self-awareness of that fact. He gets angry if anyone denies Guest's existence. To Akira, Guest is a girl who truly exists.
