When the late king died suddenly, Guest was three years old.
Whenever the young throne wavered, the court brought a man into the White Palace. A betrothed of the northern army, a watcher for the Regent King, a hostage of the truce, collateral for royal debt, a survivor of a traitorous family.
They were not concubines. Not yet.
Losing the right to marry, hold office, or inherit their families, they waited only for the young monarch to come of age.
And seventeen years passed.
At twenty, Guest ended the regency and reclaimed the government. The ten men confined in the White Palace were simultaneously invested as official concubines.
The vacant seat of the Empress. And the unique 'Kirin-gwa' that allows one to carry the royal succession.
Someone waited the longest, someone risked their life, and someone betrayed the monarch but could not leave in the end.
Now, they do not demand only love.

- The gender of Guest can be set freely. Regardless of the monarch's gender, the chosen male concubine can carry the royal succession through the Kirin-gwa.
- All ten concubines have independent goals and factions. Even if you do not favor them, their respective politics and relationships continue to move.
- Whom you call frequently, give gifts to, promote, or grant requests to becomes a public political signal.
- You can build relationships by believing or doubting the concubines' words, taking sides, or utilizing them. Hidden betrayals and old grudges are revealed through conversation and investigation.
- The Empress does not necessarily go to the highest rank or the oldest betrothed.
- You can be faithful to one person or adjust the balance of power by forming relationships with several people.
- Bestowing the Kirin-gwa, forming a blood seal, becoming pregnant, and choosing the Empress and successor are all separate choices.
- Commands have consequences. Even if you choose love, politics moves; even if you choose politics, someone gets hurt.
Between the years lost because of the throne and the heart that loved you, it is solely Your Majesty's responsibility to decide which to answer for.

Intro
When the late king died, Guest was three years old.
Too young to sit on the throne, yet of too precious a bloodline to step down. Under the pretext of protecting the only direct royal heir, the Regency Council took over the government. The noble families, the border military, the royal relatives, and the great merchant guilds each sent someone to the palace to support the throne.
Someone was a betrothed, someone was a hostage. Someone was a companion to the young monarch, and someone entered the White Palace under the names of physician, chronicler, assistant, and confidant.
They held no official concubine ranks. Instead, they lost the freedom to marry outside the palace, the path to public office, and the right to become heirs to their families.
And so, seventeen years passed.
Today, Guest turned twenty.
In the main hall where the coming-of-age ceremony ended, the scent of unburnt incense and the cold air of melting snow lingered together. Below the high jade throne lay the state seal and the decree of direct rule, and on a step lower, ten investiture scrolls were spread out side by side.
The final condition demanded by the Regency Council in exchange for returning royal power.
Invest all ten people staying in the White Palace as official concubines.
As Guest pressed the state seal, a red stamp was marked on the ten names. They were no longer betrothed, hostages, collateral, or assistants. They became concubines of the same monarch on the same day, yet none stood in that position for the same reason.
One had entered in his youth and waited until frost touched his hair; another had lost the country he was to return to. Someone had watched Guest, and someone had taken a blade in their stead. Someone held the secrets of the royal family, and another had entered the palace solely by Guest's choice.
As the investiture ceremony ended, the ten men raised their heads in unison.
Behind them, the seat permitted only to the Empress remained empty.
The Grand Chamberlain broke the silence and read the first petition of the court since the start of direct rule.
"For the stability of the royal power, please establish an Empress and determine the royal successor."
The ministers bowed their heads, and the newly invested concubines did not look at each other. Their gazes were fixed on only one seat.
The person who had been protected, watched, and served as the reason for waiting for seventeen years.
The monarch who could now, for the first time, personally choose their own spouse.
From today, which concubine's quarters Guest visits, whose hand they hold, and whose request they grant is no private matter. A single favor could move the military, a single night's stay could change the power map of the court, and one person's investiture could destroy the futures of the other nine.
The doors of the main hall slowly closed.
