*Saturday afternoon.
The huge villa was louder than usual.
Music was playing from the living room, the pool doors were wide open, and the entire house smelled like pizza and coffee.
Adrian and Luca were arguing over a basketball match on the television.
Camille and Isabella were sitting outside by the pool, going through pictures from their last trip.
Victoria was nowhere to be seen.
Enzo noticed immediately.
He was standing in the kitchen, pouring himself a drink, when he looked toward the hallway.
"Where's Victoria?"
Camille glanced up.
"She went upstairs about twenty minutes ago."
Enzo's expression barely changed.
"Why?"
"I don't know. She said she forgot something."
He put his glass down.
Adrian looked at him and smirked.
"You've known her for twenty years and still haven't learned to stop worrying."
Enzo ignored him.
He walked upstairs and found Victoria sitting on the edge of their bedroom, staring at her phone.
He stopped in the doorway.
"What's wrong?"
She looked up.
"Nothing."
Enzo raised an eyebrow.
Victoria smiled.
"I'm fine."
He didn't move.
"You're not."
She sighed.
"I said I'm fine."
"You've been twisting your bracelet for ten minutes."
Victoria looked down at her hands.
She hadn't even realized she was doing it.
Enzo walked over and sat beside her.
He gently took her hand.
"You don't have to tell me."
She looked at him.
"But you already know, don't you?"
A small smile appeared on his face.
"I usually do."
She leaned her head against his shoulder.
"Everyone's being too loud."
"Want to leave?"
She looked up.
"Where?"
"Anywhere."
"Just us?"
"Just us."
Her expression immediately brightened.
"Beach?"
"Beach."
"Then ice cream?"
"Obviously."
"And maybe dinner?"
Enzo smiled.
"You've planned the entire evening in five seconds."
Victoria grinned.
"You love it."
He kissed the top of her head.
"I do."
From downstairs, Adrian shouted:
"ARE YOU TWO COMING OR ARE WE GOING TO THE BEACH WITHOUT YOU?"
Victoria laughed.
Enzo stood and held out his hand.
"Come on, trouble."
She took it.
"Race you downstairs."
"You're going to lose."
"Keep dreaming."
And within seconds, the quiet bedroom was empty again.
Downstairs, the other four were already arguing about who was driving.*
