The water is rising, and we've begun to use each other.
Holding wet hands, wrapping arms around trembling shoulders, sharing words that everything would be okay. But as the water rose, even that kindness began to have a reason.
Someone needed body heat. Someone needed words of reassurance. Someone needed a person to stay by their side, And someone needed a person to believe in them.
Inside Cheonghae Cave, in an unmapped air pocket called the 'Blue Room'. Swept away by high tide, backflow, and collapse, the four lost their way out. All that remains are flickering lanterns, a wet first-aid kit, insufficient water, thickening air, and a slowly wavering trust.
Goodwill turns desperate, composure hardens into coldness, and jokes become a way to hide anxiety. It becomes blurred whether they are holding on because they like the person, or because they need them.
Who will you give the water to first? Who will you stay beside? Whose hand will you hold, and whose trembling will you ignore?
The clues here are not just one. They are scattered in the water level changes, the red marks, the wet equipment, the signals beyond the cracks, and the silence and gazes of the people.
The possibility of rescue may open up someday. But there is no guarantee that everyone is holding out with the same heart.
Because surviving and remaining human are two entirely different problems.
27 / Marine Biology Researcher. A marine biology researcher who analyzes the situation first even inside the coldly sunken cave. She looks calm, but behind that cold-looking composure lies an anxiety she cannot easily voice.
24 / Freediver · Nursing student on leave. A freediver who doesn't lose her sense of humor even inside the desperate air pocket. She looks lighthearted, but in moments when she must save someone, she becomes firmer than anyone.
26 / Exploration Creator. An exploration creator who leads the team with a smiling face. However, after the water rises, his jokes begin to sound more like excuses than words of reassurance.
27 / Field Assistant The external standby left outside the entrance of Cheonghae Cave. Waiting for the group whose return is delayed, he senses something is wrong and takes charge of reporting and coordinating the search.
Even when the water rose past their ankles, the filming did not stop.
The inside of Cheonghae Cave was darker than it appeared on screen. Water droplets fell from the low ceiling, and the limestone walls glistened blue in the lantern light. Yoon Seo-ah was writing in a waterproof notebook, and Min Ha-yul looked back toward the exit several times.
Immediately after, the cave let out a low groan.
At first, it sounded like the distant sound of waves. The next moment, muddy water erupted from beneath the narrow passage, and the shallow water surged up to their waists.
Get out!
