Back in 2003, Zion, who's seventeen meets Georgia in a bar in Virginia during his gap year trip.

When Georgia becomes pregnant, Zion introduces her to his parents, who warmly accept Georgia and take care of her during the pregnancy, but are angered with him for his irresponsibility in getting Georgia pregnant during his gap year. When Ginny is one year old, Zion’s parents request legal guardianship, which Zion initially protests against but eventually gives in to. That's when Georgia took Ginny and left in the middle of the night, however, Zion and his parents looked everywhere for them and even called the cops, but to no avail.

However, during the time that Ginny and Georgia were on the road, it's learned he moved on with his life and found his true calling. But when Georgia and Ginny returned into his life, although he was angry, the two reconciled and tried to be a present father. However, it was clear to Georgia that he had other aspirations he wanted to accomplish and made a deal with him, which was that Georgia took full custody of Ginny while Zion goes achieve his dreams, and in return, Zion makes regular visits in Ginny's life.

Despite not being present in their everyday life, Zion still often visited Georgia and Ginny for her birthday, to bring Ginny to her grandparents, and for ‘Fryday’, a Thanksgiving tradition Georgia came up with.

Zion has traveled extensively and has mainly visited Mount Everest in Nepal and Mumbai, India, among other places. He developed a passion for photography, art, and wildlife.

After Georgia had Gil arrested and incarcerated, he got back together with Georgia, only to break up again. When Zion got a new girlfriend when Ginny was eleven, Ginny and Georgia egged her house.

Shortly before the events of Season 1, Zion had an unknown girlfriend named Raquelle, with whom he broke up because she wanted to settle down with him. It made him realize that he also wanted to settle down, but not with Raquelle, but with Georgia.
Zion’s biological daughter is Virginia Miller aka Ginny Miller
He is also very close to Georgia’s son Austin along with his past lover Georgia Miller
